Nature is a lovely example to follow
In recent months, I have realized how much I miss seeing the green of the lush thriving plant-life and start of a new generation of leaves on the trees. The renewal of life and growth of nature has been in its hibernation season. Here we call it winter. The beauty of each season has its own unique style, however it is the time of the year when I get antsy awaiting the first sprouts of new life. The grass is becoming visible through the melting snow, and reminds me of something powerful.
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
-Albert Einstein
Planting Seeds of Change
While our individual seasons may not be in sync with the natural world, we too go through the phases of change. As we find aspects of our life that, maybe, do not serve us anymore, we take the break from life. In this aspect, I believe we are in season we call Autumn. For me, it is a time for reflection. A deep internal audit is in order. It comes from the oddest places. A comment from a stranger, and ‘Aha’ moment that feels like an epiphany, or a realization that I want more out of life than I am currently allowing myself to have. It is a moment when I can see, and therefore, know, change needs to happen.
These realizations can take time, depending on how open we are to receive them. For this reason, our seasons do not flow as Mother Nature flows from one to another each year. When I am finally able to see this, I tend to begin the process by retreating inward. My method is to concentrate on breath work, meditation, and simply listening to my own inner voice. I liken this to Winter – nature’s hibernation season. It can be a period of great internal growth that will manifest itself at a later date.

Strengthening Roots
Like the trees, who’s outward growth is stilled, surviving the weather, and awaiting change, we too, can grow internally for the betterment of renewed future. Bringing a new elevated consciousness to being within ourselves can be hard. Nevertheless, the efforts put in will strengthen the roots we need to push forward, to grow. In order for expansion to occur in our physical life we must first expand our mind. We must allow it to be more open to invite in change.
During this time of expansion, like all growth it will be time to break through the surface. Like a sprouting new plant free from the dark. It is our season of Spring. An inspiring time to look around. Remember how far you have come. Be proud of the progress you made with each step you have taken. The fruits will be the sweetest as we take daily stock and continue our work. In our life there will be obstacles there to keep us thinking, maybe even doubting, whether our change is for the best. I find remaining grateful for where you are and where you are going.
The Cycle Continues
Making the decision to better yourself will be a constant process in which daily spiritual work must be involved. The day you realize that all the work put forth did indeed change you, you can know that all blessings will be manifested in your life. This manifestation of blessings and miracles is Summer. It is a time of knowing. A time when we no longer need to work on change, because it has become a part of who we are. This transformation period is complete. The new you, a better version, has emerged from your struggles and certainty. Appreciate all that you have done. It is not to be glossed over; you have persevered.
I believe that the most important ways that we can bring change to ourselves, and in turn, to the world are: gratitude and appreciation.
I am positive we all would like the phases of ourselves to move quickly, so we can grow and elevate to that perfect Vessel we wish to be. However, it is up to each of us how much effort we choose to put in. Not all transformations will come to us easily. It could also be that each of us are working on multiple aspects at one time. Our personal transformation will be ongoing as each part of us will be in a different place in the cycle of transforming. I believe that the most important ways that we can bring change to ourselves, and in turn, to the world are: gratitude and appreciation.
- Gratitude, in each step of the process we are in. We must all have gratitude for where we have been, and where we are now, in order to keep positivity within our own being.
- Appreciation, in the manifestation of all we have worked for. We must appreciate the blessings bestowed upon us, as the gifts they are.
Pushing Onward
Yes, we will always need to move forward, as nature reminds us, but remember where we started. Not to relive it in a negative way, but to remind us that we have within ourselves the strength to overcome anything. It is in our power to break through the cold harsh winter to a time of renewal, just as the plants will break through the soil, the flowers will bud in their time, and the leaves will be formed again. As the migrating animals come home, it is our time to also come home. It is our time to become more like the perfect being the Creator wishes for us – happy and joyful.
Connecting Nature to You:
- How can you experience life by cultivating own personal transformation?
- Keep a journal. Each day, making a list of things to be grateful for and also appreciate.
- If feeling stuck, take a walk, or simply enjoy being outside. The inspiration is all around you.
